In the name of Love.

I have just seen a television program, where a 17 years old boy requests to see his biological mother, Kelly, who abandoned him when he was 3 months old.

The paternal grandmother took care of this boy, paid for his education, music lessons, baseball; The grandmother says this is her son and no one else.

The mother cries throughout the program, alleges that she was 15 years old when she got pregnant, that her mother-in-law used to live next door and she was interfering with their lives all the time.

Kelly affirms that she had to run away because she couldn't stand the pressure that her mother in law was putting on her, Kelly was criticized because she wasn’t working and when she got a job she was at fault because she didn’t take care of the baby. Nothing Kelly  did  was good enough to please her.

The mother in law affirms  that  Kelly,  had tried to drown her child , also said that she left him weep for hours in the highchair, that she had tore  his mouth with a bottle, and a lot of terrible things.

Throughout the years Kelly tried to communicate with her son but she couldn’t overcome the grandmother’s guard. The last time Kelly spoke to her son, was  when the boy was 8 years and the child asked her to leave him in peace, that if he ever wanted to know of she, he will seek for it; so Kelly patiently waited for 11 years, respecting his desire and waiting for that call.

Before the TV program started, Kelly was submitted to a lie detector to check the accuracy of her responses.
In this case, Kelly was telling the truth. The mother-in law’s accusations were false.

This history makes me think about how pride and misunderstood love makes us blind.
This lady, the mother in law destroyed a marriage, deprived a baby of her mother and snatched away a child from her mother, all just to show her power, to show that she was the right one, all in the name of love.

It is so terrible that we cannot see beyond our nose.
This lady in her bitterness and anger missed the true colors of reality she was looking through a filter and stubbornly made Kelly’s and her child's life miserable.

As the child grows, the grandmother poisons his hearth against his mother. Despite of her love for this child, his grandmother hurt him, because the child cannot understand what makes him be as undesirable as a person that her own mother wanted to kill him when he was a creature defenseless.
The language is a small organ but can poison throughout the body and the neighbors.   The tongue is a poisonous and a deadly animal, which has been locked in a cell under two keys (the lips and the teeth); that is the reason why we should be extra-careful with what we say, and the intention behind our words.

In the name of love, grandmas keep your tongues under control.
