Mi Pintura es mi Pasión.

He aprendido que cuando un hobby se convierte en pasión
entonces no hay otra salida más que conocerlo, saborearlo,
conquistarlo, y poseerlo.
Así pues, estoy en la tarea de conocer el color,
la forma, la luz lo que me conduce a crear y
estar en paz conmigo misma y mi entorno.




Nací en Colombia. Expresarme en color es una imperiosa necesidad.

Mis primeras vacas fueron de color morado. A la edad de 8 años trate mi primer perfil. Me fue dicho que mi única responsabilidad, era estudiar y “llegar a ser alguien” y ser artista no estaba dentro de las posibilidades. Por lo tanto obtuve un título universitario como Bacterióloga; pero esta alma mía languidecía por expresarse en color.

En 1985 Beatriz Guerrero, una amiga me introdujo en la acuarela.

1987 tome algunas clases de dibujo e introducción a la teoría del color con el maestro Adolfo Albán.

1989 inmigre a los Estados Unidos, me casé y tengo dos hijos.

Valide mi carrera y en 1997 en el Hospital Newton-Wesllesly; obtuve el titulo de Tecnóloga Médica.
Por años trabaje 40 horas por semana, cuidé de mi familia y los Domingos muy de mañana solía pintar sobre la mesa de la cocina y tenía que recoger todo para el desayuno.

En 2003 atendí a clases de Acuarela en el Museo de Arte en Worcester.
En el mismo año dibuje mi primer portarretrato siguiendo instrucciones de un libro prestado de la biblioteca de Milford; desde entonces he estado copiando de fotos, leyendo, investigando, en búsqueda de soluciones, pintando en mi sótano.

En 2008 tome  algunas clase de pintura al óleo con la señora K. Herbert en Worcester.

En 2009 me sumergí totalmente en la pintura y estoy contenta con los resultados.
Debido a que no tengo una educación formal en arte, todavía tengo un sinfín de preguntas por contestar, avece me embarco en proyectos que parecen ser demasiado complicados para mi nivel de conocimiento, pero jugando, buscando respuestas, dejándome guiar por el artista que vive en mi, estoy aquí ahora y sé que la practica continua me superará

El pasado Junio, 2010 supe que la librería de Milford ofrecía clases de pintura, es un grupo de artistas muy amable, interesante y con ganas de aprender.
El maestro Salvador Ferreira desempeña una gran labor compartiendo su conocimiento, y su buen humor. Este grupo me aceptó incondicionalmente, me siento afortunada de  haber podido participar con 22 artistas más en una exhibición que tuvo lugar en la biblioteca de Milford, el pasado  Sabado, Septiembre 11, 2010

My Paint My Passion

I have learned that when a hobby becomes a passion then there is no way out but to know it, taste it, conquer it, and own it.

So, I'm in the task of knowing the color, form, and light which gives me unknown joy and drives me to create and be at peace with my surroundings and myself.
Auto –Biography

I was born in Colombia. Expressing myself in color is a imperious need; My first cows were purple, I drew my first profile when I was 8 years old.

I was told that my only responsibility was to study and “become somebody” become an artist wasn’t a possibility. Therefore in 1984 I obtained a bachelor degree on science, but this soul of mine was yearning for express herself in color.

In 1985, Beatriz Guerrero, a friend of mine introduced me into watercolor.

1987, I took some drawing classes with

the master Adolfo Alban.

1989, I came to USA, got marry and have 2 children. I validated my career and in 1997 I have a bachelor degree as Medical Technologist from Newton Wellesley Hospital.

For years I worked 40 hour per week, run a family and on Sunday, at 6 am, when everybody was asleep; I used to paint at my kitchen table and had picked everything up for breakfast.

In 2003, I took a watercolor class at the Art Museum of Worcester, the same year I drew my first official portrait following instructions from a Milford’s library book; since then I have been copying from photos, reading, searching for answers, painting  at my basement.

2008, I took my first official oil class with Ms. K. Herbert from Worcester.

2009 I immersed myself into painting and I am content with the result.

Since I do not have a formal education in art I still have tons of questions, I lead myself into projects that seem too complicated for my level of knowledge but playing, searching for answers, letting my inner artist to guide me, I am here today and I know that practicing would get me the skills I longing for.

Last June, 2010 I learned that the library offered classes in oil painting; this group of artists is very friendly, interesting and eager to learn. Salvador Ferreira, the teacher plays a great job sharing his knowledge and his sense humor. This group accepted me unconditionally, I feel fortunate to  had been  able to display my work with  21 more artists the past Saturday 22, 2010 at the Milford Library.
